Every class offered herein which is covered by the rules and specifications of the current USEF Rule Book, will be conducted and judged in accordance therewith. See USEF Rule Book for rules, class description and judging specs. Any changes in the USEF rules will automatically become a part of the Prize List. Show Committee reserves the right to make sure changes in procedure, personnel, rules & regs as deemed by them to be in the best interest of the show.

- To be eligible, a horse must meet certain criteria including being foaled in Kentucky, sired by a stallion standing in Kentucky at the time of service and bred by a Kentucky resident.
- Membership in the Kentucky Saddlebred Owners and Breeders Association is required.

Therefore in order to compete at the show you must have the following information before your back numbers will be issued. It would greatly help the show office if you submitted this information with your entries, but if not please bring it with you to the show office when you come to check in.
DRESS CODE FOR SHOW RING
The UPHA has adopted a dress code and requests that these requirements be followed at the Kentucky Fall Classic during the 2009 competition year. The dress code applies to all trainers, handlers, grooms and other participants entering the show ring.
AMERICAN SADDLEBRED DIVISION:
Horse Requirements: Must have registration papers showing current proof of ownership or a Certificate of Eligibility to Show. Horses competing in the 3-Gaited/5 Gaited Pony Division do not need Registration Papers but must have a current measurement card before competing. Copies of papers and/or measurement cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued. Ponies without measurement cards must be measured at the competition before back numbers will be issued.
Owner Requirements: Owner must be a current member of USEF or be prepared to pay a $25.00 Non Member Fee – this fee is non-refundable. Owner must a current member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association – or be prepared to pay a $20.00 Non Member Fee – this fee is non-refundable. Copies of both cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.
Trainer Requirements: Trainer must be a current member of USEF or be prepared to pay a $25.00 Non Member Fee – this fee is non-refundable. Trainer must be a current member of the American Saddlebred Horse Association – this fee is non-refundable. Copies of both cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.
Rider/Driver Requirements: Riders/Drivers must be a current member of USEF or be prepared to pay a $25.00 Non Member Fee (which includes the $5 Breed/Discipline Fee); Junior Riders/Drivers can be Non Members – the fee is only $20.00. Riders/Drivers competing in Amateur classes must possess a USEF Amateur Certification; if a non-member amateur, the rider/driver may pay the $30 USEF Non-member Amateur Certification Fee with entry. This $30 is an annual fee for certification which will expire on November 30th. These fees are non-refundable. Copies of USEF Membership/Amateur Cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.
HACKNEY/HARNESS DIVISION:
Horse Requirements: Must have registration papers from the AHHS showing current proof of ownership. Ponies competing in the Harness Pony Division must have a current measurement card issued by USEF. If a current measurement card is not available the pony must be measured prior to competing. Copies of papers & cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.
Owner Requirements: Owner must be a current member of USEF or be prepared to pay a $25.00 Non Member Fee – this fee is non-refundable. Copies of cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.
Owners and trainers Requirements: Owners and trainers of ponies participating at Federation licensed competitions in any Hackney section must be current members in good standing with the American Hackney Horse Society and provide an original or copy of the AHHS membership card unless the competition, at their discretion, confirms electronically with the AHHS office. Lessees are considered owners in connection with this membership requirement. In the event of an entry under multiple ownership, only one owner need be a member of AHHS.

Rider/Driver Requirements: Riders/Drivers must be a current member of USEF or be prepared to pay a $25.00 Non Member Fee (which includes the $5 Breed/Discipline Fee); Junior Riders/Drivers can be Non Members – the fee is only $20.00. Junior Riders/Drivers who compete in the AHHS Medallion program must be current members of the American Hackney Horse Society. Riders/Drivers competing in Amateur classes must possess a USEF Amateur Certification; if a non-member amateur, the rider/driver may pay the $30 USEF Non-member Amateur Certification Fee with entry. This $30 is an annual fee for certification which will expire on November 30th. These fees are non-refundable. ROADSTER DIVISION:
Horse Requirements: Horses must have Registration Papers or a Certificate of Eligibility to Show from the American Road Horse & Pony Association. Copies should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.
Pony Requirements: Ponies must have current measurement cards before competing. Copies should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.

Riders competing in the Walk/Trot Division are exempt from Membership to USEF. Riders competing in the UPHA Challenge Cup Classes must be current members of the UPHA. Copies of cards should be submitted with entries or available before back numbers will be issued.

ATTENTION DEVICES
Items such as tape measures, blow horns, split bamboo poles or whips longer than six (6), that would alter the performance of a horse or disturb another horse while performing in a class, will not be allowed at the entrance to the show ring or ringside. Explosives, fire extinguishers, and laser beams used as training aids are prohibited on the show grounds before, during, or after the show. All such items will be confiscated and offenders will be reported to the USEF (See USEF GR 302.4I and GR 320).
In consideration of your fellow exhibitors and for the presenting the proper image of the American Saddlebred, attention getting devised should be used with caution in the warm up and schooling areas. We encourage you not to use Lash whip on Victory passes.

PLEASE NOTICE!
GOLF CARTS / MOPEDS, ETC – A privilege, not a right, extended to show participants. You must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license to operate these vehicles. Not allowed in the Tourist / Visitor areas of the Park. A Golf Cart License is required for all private golf-carts and can be obtained for $20 per event / or $50 for the season from the Golf Cart Vendor office. NO ALL TERRAIN VEHICLES (ATV) ARE ALLOWED ON HORSE SHOW GROUNDS! USEF Rule GR 301.5 (See Below).
MOTORIZED VEHICLES
(see GR1301): Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. Violations of this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian(s) and/or trainer(s) who are responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusion of the child, parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
